If an active shooter event occurred, would you be ready?
Some people may turn a blind eye, but active shooter incidents are becoming everyday headlines. Law enforcement and other first responders are trained in responding to violence, but the individuals already present are the real first line of defense. With our hands-on Active Shooter Response Training classes, you can be equipped with the tools and knowledge to act when you find yourself in an unexpected crisis.
In this program, we will address or teach the following topics:
Awareness
Inoculation
Experience ‘stress inoculation’ when you’re introduced to what an active shooter event may sound like.
Critical Thinking
Develop the critical thinking skills necessary to maintain calm in life-threatening situations. Use nearby objects and your environment to create a plan for survival.
Survival
Understand your role as a ‘first’ first responder until police and EMTs arrive. Acquire lifesaving first aid skills you’ll carry with you should an emergency medical situation interrupt your everyday routine.
Increase chance of survival with lifesaving first aid
Learning how to apply a tourniquet or pack a wound can drastically increase the chances of survival for injured persons.
All of our Active Shooter Response Training classes include trauma care instruction based on the guidelines set by the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, or TECC.
With our instruction, you’ll develop the skills necessary to prevent the death of victims who have received survivable, albeit grievous, injuries.
Prepare for the unexpected
In our Active Shooter Response Training course, you won’t just see demonstrations of lifesaving first aid — you’ll learn to apply tourniquets and pack wounds by doing it hands-on. We’ll introduce you to the most effective courses of action to take when dealing with an active shooter in your organization, as well as what first responders are looking out for and what assistance they need from you when they arrive on the scene.
Our aim is not to instill fear or panic. Instead, you’ll learn the skills and knowledge not to see yourself as a victim. Rather, you’ll see yourself as an empowered leader in your everyday life, no matter if you’re at work, church, or school.
